To reduce accidents, incidents and subsequent claims, the shipping industry needs to move forward utilizing risk based management techniques. Making the identification of hazards and risks a part of the daily work routine is vital for the overall health of the shipping business. Providing a safe workspace is a non-negotiable requirement for every stakeholder in the shipping industry.
The aim of this course is to have a thorough understanding on how the workplace hazards could be identified in a structured manner. This course also provides adequate working knowledge of Risk Assessment and Risk Management techniques to the candidates to enable them apply the acquired knowledge to all aspects of day-to-day shipboard operations thereby ensuring a safe and efficient working environment on board. On successful completion of this course the candidates will acquire the required knowledge and skills to develop a practical risk management implementation plan for the organization which identifies specific actions to be taken and the time for their completion in compliance with the Risk Management Code of Practice.

Course Details
Course Duration: The course duration is thirty (30) hours spread over five (05) days from Sunday to Thursday, 0800 hours to 1500 hours with one-hour break for lunch
Attendance: 100 % attendance is required
Assessment: Written assessments comprising subjective questions as well as MCQ’s with 60% passing marks
Entry Requirements: The basic requirement for taking up this course is a minimum of twelve (12) years of structured education or Advanced Level (A ‘Level) or equivalent standard of education.
