This course covers the theory and practice of using basic VHF radio equipment to transmit and receive calls, messages and information by radiotelephony, the Digital Selective Calling (DSC) system and VHF Automatic Identification System (AIS).
The harmonised CEPT examination procedures for the short range certificate (SRC) for Non-SOLAS vessels is also covered in this course.
A candidate passing this course will attain a certificate that is acceptable for both IALA VTS Operators and persons operating VHF radio on Non-SOLAS vessels.
