Basic Training For Liquefied Gas Tanker Cargo Operations

In accordance with STCW Code Table A-II/2 (masters and chief mates on ships of 500 gross tonnage or more)
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge of resource manage-ment, leadership, and teamwork to fulfil the requirements of STCW 2010, Sections A-II/1 and A-II/2.

Scope:-
This course provides training for officers and ratings. It comprises a basic training programme appropriate to their duties for liquefied gas tanker safety, fire safety measures and cargo systems, pollution prevention, safe operational practice and obligations under applicable laws and regulations.
The course takes full account of section A-V/1-2 of the STCW Code adopted by STCW Code as amended, including the Manila amendments 2010.
Course Outline
This knowledge, skill and understanding acquired during this course should include Competencies mentioned in STCW 2010 Table A-V/1-2-1, but is not limited to:
- Contribute to the safe operation of a liquefied gas tanker
- Take precautions to prevent hazards
- Apply occupational health and safety precautions and measures
- Carry Out Fire Fighting Operations
- Respond to emergencies
- Take precautions to prevent pollution of the environment from the release of liquefied gases

Course Duration: 3.5 Days
Assessment: Theoretical and Practical
Attendance: 100% attendance is required
Entry Requirements: The course is open to all seafarers who are to serve on board sea-going merchant Liquid Gas Cargo Carrier (LNG&LPG).
