Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi holds the distinguished role of AD Ports Group’s Managing Director and Group CEO, where he oversees the development of the Group’s portfolio of assets and activities.

Furthermore, Captain Al Shamisi holds the titles of Chairman of Aramex, Chairman of Mair Group, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Co-operative Society, and the Vice Chairman of UAE Sailing & Rowing Federation. He is also a Board Member of the Etihad Aviation Group, Etihad Airways, Abu Dhabi Airports Company, and MAKE A WISH Foundation, UAE.

As an experienced maritime executive, Captain Al Shamisi brings 20 years of industry expertise to the Board. He holds an MBA from the University of Tasmania, Australia, an Advanced Diploma of Applied Science (shipmaster) from the Australian Maritime College, and a Graduate Certificate of Management from the University of Tasmania, Australia. He also has a Diploma of Applied Science (2nd Mate Class), from the Australian Maritime College.

Serving as President of Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy at AD Ports Group,
Dr. Yasser Al Wahedi manages day-to-day operations at the Academy by developing and monitoring procedures and policies ensuring regulatory compliance. He is also charged with devising and implementing the Academy’s overall long-term strategic plans.

Prior to his joining AD Ports Group, Dr. Al Wahedi garnered more than 14 years’ experience in the field of industrial research and academia.

A seasoned educator, Dr. Al Wahedi has taught university programmes to more than 1000 students spanning Fluid Mechanics, Engineering Economics and Process Control, and has supervised and co-supervised more than 15 graduate projects (M.Sc. and PhD) as well as seven senior design projects.

His research includes authoring and co-authoring 50 journal publications including one featured in the prestigious Science focusing on energy efficiency and carbon emission reduction.

He has served in several research committees, as well as the Chief Technology Officer at the Gas Research Centre, a role where he became well versed in establishing research administrative procedures and policies, managing project portfolios worth USD 32 million, and directly managing research projects worth USD 3.2 million.

A committed and noteworthy inventor, Dr. Al Wahedi is a patent holder of two granted patent and five filed patents.

Dr. Al Wahedi received his PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities in the United States ranked third over USA in 2015.
