Capt. Anthony Walters part of the Nautical Faculty at Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy.

Before joining ADMA, he had command on vessels for various reputable worldwide shipping companies for 23 years.

He held Pilotage exemptions for various eastern ports of Australia, Sydney being the major port. He also taught as a lecturer for over seven years at the “The Northern Beaches TAFE institute (Maritime Faculty)” in Sydney Australia.

Captain Anthony Walters holds a Master Mariner Certificate of Competency from the UK (MCA) and Certificate of Recognition (Master) from Australia. In addition, he has completed a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Captain Chandrasekharan Vennekkat

Sr. Lecturer – Nautical Science

Capt. Chandrasekharan Vennekkat, a faculty at Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy is a seasoned Marine Professional with overall 35 years of Experience in diverse areas of Maritime and Global Industry, where, actively involved in Maritime Training, Marine and Port Management, Management and Training of Occupational Health and Safety.

Having gained overall seagoing Experience of about 26 years onboard various Merchant Ships with command Experience of 13 years, including 23 Years of service onboard LPG Tankers of various size and types such as Fully Refrigerated Very Large Gas Carriers (VLGCs), Capt.Chandrasekharan had the fortune to command the Biggest plying VLGC in the world for Five times

Have acquired an invaluable exposure to ADNOC Group company IRSHAD (Abu dhabi Petroleum Ports Operating company at Ruwais Petroleum Port Station – UAE) for about 2 years, in the role as Senior HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment and Quality) Advisor.

Capt.Chandrasekharan is a “Graduate Member” of “ Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (Grad.IOSH) and “Member of International Institute of Risk and Safety Managers (MIIRSM) and also holder of Level-6 International Diploma awarded by NEBOSH-UK.

Adjunct Subject Matter Expert

Captain Clive Hotham is an Adjunct Subject Matter Expert at Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy.

Captain Clive Hotham brings more than 45 years of maritime experience to the role, in 17 of them he was as a Master Mariner on a variety of vessels in worldwide trading.

For the last 14 years he has been involved in Maritime Education and Training. As well as extensive knowledge of maritime professional subjects that are core to the maritime world, his expertise is in Marine Simulation as a tool for education, training, and research.

Captain Clive Hotham has an MSc in Maritime Operations.

Captain Khalid Alnammoura

Captain Khalid Alnammoura

Lecturer – Short Courses & Simulator

Captain Khalid Alnammoura is a course instructor at Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy, with a focus on full mission ship bridge simulators, electronical navigational aid, ships and tugs handling as well as liquid bulk cargo handling simulators.

Alnammoura has more than 20 years of maritime experience in the Middle East and has worked closely with the maritime authority on the accreditation of STCW training courses and on EMSA audits.

Before making the move into the maritime education and training sector he held a number of shipping roles including marine supervisor for a SPM offshore replacement project, VTS operator at a major oil exporting port in the UAE and port captain/DPA for a well-known international towage and salvage company.

Captain Khalid Alnammoura holds a management level Certificate of Conformity (CoC) and training certificates in Training of Trainers (ToT), ISM Auditing, shore-line cleaning and mechanical oil recovery, as well as Cavotec pneumatic mooring systems.

Captain Khalid Al Qeisi

Sr. Lecturer – Short Courses

Capt. Khalid Al -Qeisi is a Lecturer at Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy. He brings with him more than 30 years of maritime industry experience. He obtained his expertise at sea by working for 15 years in various levels and on various kinds of oceangoing and offshore vessels after graduating from the Odessa State Marine Academy in 1992.

He eventually started working on shore serving as a Marine Pilot and subsequently a Senior Pilot in numerous ports throughout the world. He joined AD Ports in 2015 as Sr. Pilot conducting various moves bringing the vessels of various sizes in and out of various ports in Abu Dhabi. He began working at Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy in 2021 as a Lecturer for the academic programs. He has also taught a number of short courses as an Instructor.

In addition to his Master CoC (Unlimited) and Master of Science (Engineer Navigator) degrees, he also holds a number of other maritime-related credentials, including the VTSO ,VTSS, TOT, and ISM.

Sr. Programme Specialist – Logistics & Marine Survey

Captain Khurshid Khalid has over sixteen years of sailing experience including commanding on ocean-going vessels of the reputed shipping companies, and he is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (MICS) U.K.

Captain Khurshid Khalid has been teaching Logistics and Supply Chain Management to MBA students of various Universities along with ICS subjects since 1995 and has been conducting tailor-made courses for the Pakistan Navy. He had served as a Lecturer in Nautical Studies for three years with the Maritime Academy of Malaysia (ALAM).

Captain Khurshid Khalid has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the U.K. with distinction.

Captain Mohammad Masudur Rahman

Lecturer – Deck

Captain Mohammad Masudur Rahman is part of the nautical faculty at Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy.

Before joining ADMA, he worked as a lecturer for over seven years at The City of Glasgow’s nautical college in Scotland. He has more than twelve years of maritime training and educational experience in addition to over twenty years of seafaring experience, which includes five years in command on vessels from various reputable worldwide companies.

He is a certified trainer of JRC specific Electronic Chart Display, Information Systems (ECDIS) as well as a TRANSAS certified trainer for ship and GMDSS simulators. His expertise lies in developing as well as delivering UK based HNC, HND, Mate and Master courses, plus simulator based STCW short courses.

Captain Masudur holds a Master Mariner Certificate of Competency from the UK and a post-graduate Teaching Qualification for Further Education (TQFE) from the University of Dundee, UK. He is also an associate of the Nautical Institute (AFNI), UK.

Eng. Mohammed Nasser

Sr. Lecturer – Marine Engineering & ETO

Eng. Mohammed Nasser holds a Master of Science in Marine Engineering (Distinction), University of Strathclyde & Glasgow – UK and a Certificate of Competency (Marine Engineer Officer) Class 1(Motorship), Singapore.

Was a Marine Surveyor with American Bureau of Shipping as well as a Marine Surveyor with the Maritime Port Authority of Singapore.

Was also a Singapore Polytechnic Lecturer, Principal Lecturer for the Malaysian Maritime Academy and Lecturer with the Emirates International Maritime Academy in Dubai.

Last post before joining ADMA was as a Senior Manager with ENEOS Ocean Shipmanagement Pte Ltd, a Japanese Shipmanagement Company based in Singapore.

So far to date has had 23 years’ experience in the Marine Industry as well as 11 years teaching experience in the area of Marine Engineering.

Captain Muhammad Nowshad Jobair

Sr. Lecturer – Nautical Science

Captain Muhammad Nowshad Jobair is the Senior Lecturer at Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy.

Captain Nowshad had served on board various ocean going ships for more than 23 years, including 8 years as a Master Mariner on board Large Pure Car-Truck Carriers. There after he joined as a lecturer at the Blackpool and the Fylde College and progressing his career to Programme Leader and Curriculum Leader. During 5 years at BF&C, he acquired expertise in developing and delivering UK standard HNC and HND courses for Master and Mates. He had been an SQA marker of Chief Mates’ Stability for 8 years.

Captain Nowshad had joined United Kingdom Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) in 2014 and served 8 years as an Examiner of Master and Mates, Port State Control Inspector and Flag State Surveyor. During this period, Captain Nowshad worked as an approving surveyor for various STCW short courses.

Captain Nowshad holds a Master Mariner Certificate of Competency from United Kingdom and a Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from Lancaster University (UK). Captain Nowshad also possess qualification as ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 auditor. He is an associate of Nautical Institute (AFNI), UK.

Captain Syed Azeem is a Sr. Lecturer at Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy.

Captain Syed Azeem With a Master Mariner certification from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Over 20 years of sailing experience with command on various types of Ocean-going ships.

Experience and Certified as STCW Trainer for Maritime Training and Education, His experience as a Trainer of STCW, where he actively taught and trained seafarers’ Short courses such as ECDIS, Navigational, radar and ARPA simulator training, Advanced Fire Fighting, Personal Survival Techniques, PSSR, etc. Additionally, he has worked as a VTS supervisor in UAE Port

Captain Azeem Before joining ADMA, worked at the Maritime Administration. The experience of working in the administration has made him familiar with all the rules and regulations required in the U.A.E.

Captain Varun Rawat

Sr. Programme Specialist – Academics

Captain Varun Rawat is a Sr. Programme Specialist at Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy.

Captain Rawat has been in the Maritime industry spanning 30 years, he spent 13 years as a Master Mariner with recent sea-going experience having 8 years in command as Captain of various vessels including the world’s largest Very Large Ore Carrier (VLOC).

He has been involved in Maritime Education and training since 2009 teaching Competency and Simulator courses to all levels of Deck officers in one of the UK’s top nautical institutions.

Additionally, he has worked as a Nautical Course Consultant for the world’s largest ship management company where he revised, conducted various competency and professional Maritime including Simulators courses and on behalf of GlobalMET, was responsible for revising, updating and developing the entire new 2014 edition IMO Model Course 7.01 Master and Chief Mate & has assisted in the revision of IMO Model Course, 7.03 -Officer in charge of a navigational watch.

Captain Rawat is holder of a Master (Unlimited) Competency Certificate from the U.K and apart from designing and authoring more than 300 modules as distance learning materials for a tablet-based Proficiency and Learning System he has also assisted the Directorate General of Shipping, India to develop and standardise the examination syllabus of India addressing the 2010 Manila Amendments to the STCW Convention and Code.

Dr. Wilfredo Erenio Yutuc

Sr. Lecturer – Engine

Dr Wilfredo Erenio Yutuc is a certified Chief Marine Engineer, Ship’s Technical Superintendent, and engine room simulator trainer and assessor.

Dr Wilfredo Erenio Yutuc is a marine professional with 27 years of combined onboard and onshore experience. He has been in maritime education, training, and research for 14 years.

He is a Chartered Engineer (UK Engineering Council), Chartered Marine Engineer, Chartered Marine Technologist, a Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) and a life member of the International Maritime Lecturers’ Association (IMLA).

Dr Wilfredo Erenio Yutuc holds a PhD degree in Maritime Education.
