Program Aim:

They are responsible for researching routes, rates, carriers, providing quotes to customers, making arrangements for shipments, monitoring shipments, and managing transport documentation. Freight forwarders work closely with shippers, consignees, carriers, warehouses, packaging companies, financial institutions, and government agencies.

The aim of this programme in International Freight Forwarding & Logistics is to introduce the candidates to the various disciplines and complexities of International Freight Forwarding and Global Supply Chain. The programme will enable the learners to acquire and maintain the knowledge and skills required to execute the complete range of tasks expected from a professional Freight Forwarder and Logistics Manager.

Programme Outcomes:

  1. Level -5 Award in International Freight Forwarding & Logistics:

On successful completion of this programme comprising the fifteen (15) modules, a Level -5 Award in International Freight Forwarding & Logistics will be issued by Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy (ADMA), approved by the National Qualification Centre (NQC) Ministry of Education, U.A.E. The Level-5 Award certificate will provide details of the topics that are covered and certify that the holder of the certificate has completed forty credits (600 hours) of structured learning in International Freight Forwarding & Logistics.

  1. FIATA Diploma in International Freight Forwarding & Logistics:

Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy (ADMA) is conducting this programme in International Freight Forwarding & Logistics in collaboration with the National Association of Freight & Logistics, (NAFL) – the sole representative in UAE for the International Freight Forwarders Association (FIATA) Switzerland.

On successful completion of this programme, in addition to the Level-5 Award in International Freight Forwarding & Logistics issued by Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy, the candidates will also obtain the prestigious and internationally acclaimed FIATA Diploma in International Freight Forwarding & Logistics.

Programme Details:

Duration:

The programme duration is six hundred (600) hours comprising four hundred and fifty (450) hours of classroom / online teaching, assignments, case studies and presentation spread over thirty (30) weeks and one hundred and fifty (150) hours of workplace attachment spread over ten (10) weeks. The classes will be conducted from Monday to Friday every week from 0800 hours to 1100 hours or 1600 hours to 1900 hours.

Assessment:

Written assessments comprising subjective questions as well as quizzes, assignments and case studies with 60% pass marks.

Attendance:

90% attendance is required.

Entry Requirements:

Preferred entry requirement is a Bachelor degree in any discipline. Minimum entry requirement is twelve years of structured education or Advanced Level (A’Level). A good working knowledge of written and spoken English with a minimum IELTS Level-5 or equivalent is required.

Accreditation:

NAFL / FIATA accredited & NQC approved as Level-5 Award.
